Consultant Anaesthetist | Regional South Australia | Broad Scope Practice
The Opportunity
A permanent Consultant Anaesthetist opportunity is available within a well-established regional hospital network in South Australia.
This role offers broad clinical exposure across general anaesthesia, peri-operative care and pain management, supporting both adult and paediatric caseloads. You will practise with a high level of consultant autonomy while working within a collaborative and supportive regional service.
For specialists seeking meaningful clinical variety combined with long-term stability, this represents a strong regional appointment.
The Hospital
This established regional hospital (approximately 120 beds) provides:
• 24/7 Emergency services
• General and regional surgical services
• Medical inpatient care
• Peri-operative services
The hospital supports a busy emergency department and delivers a wide scope of regional healthcare.
The Anaesthetic Department maintains strong links to teaching and training and offers a supportive environment focused on professional development and safe practice. Accredited for 52 weeks training with ANZCA

Requirements
• Specialist Registration with AHPRA (or eligibility)
• Fellowship of ANZCA (FANZCA) or nearing completion
• Minimum 12 months recent Consultant Anaesthetist experience
International Medical Graduates:
• Eligible for recognised ANZCA pathway (including Competent Authority)
• ANZCA interview confirmed
• Assessed as substantially comparable
• Visa pathways available
