Consultant Psychiatrist | Regional Referral Health Service | Victoria
The Opportunity
We are working closely with a substantial regional referral health service in Victoria to connect with a Consultant Psychiatrist for a full-time appointment within an established Mental Health and Wellbeing division.
This position offers broad consultant practice across a service supporting adults with moderate to severe mental illness across inpatient and community settings. The mental health program operates across multiple regional sites, with the main inpatient hub based at the principal hospital campus and strong integration across access, acute care and ongoing community management pathways.
The role will suit a psychiatrist seeking meaningful regional scope, continuity of care and the opportunity to contribute to service development within a public health service that combines hospital-based and community mental health delivery across a broad catchment.
The Hospital
This is a major regional public health service and the principal acute provider for South West Victoria, delivering more than 150 services across two public hospitals, an area mental health service and multiple community health centres. The service supports a population of around 110,000 people across the wider region.

• Regional referral health service with integrated hospital and community capability
• Area Mental Health and Wellbeing service supporting residents across several regional centres
• Acute inpatient mental health unit providing specialist inpatient care for the South West region of Victoria
• Strong community mental health footprint with adult services working alongside inpatient and prevention and recovery care pathways
• 24-hour Emergency Department supporting acute presentations from the local community and broader southwest region

Requirements
• Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP)
• Specialist Registration with AHPRA (or eligibility)
• International Medical Graduates assessed by RANZCP as partially or substantially comparable
