TAL’s Technology Graduate program will begin in February 2027 and has been designed to challenge graduates by immersing them in our IT teams, while also offering experience in other areas of our business. We are seeking future leaders who want to use their passion and skills to make a difference to the lives of Australians.
What We Can Provide
- The Technology Graduate role is designed to help guide and explore your unique potential and undergo 4 rotations over a 24‑month period across Technology and Innovation.
- As part of the Technology Claims stream, graduates will rotate across Claims Reimagine and Claims Everyday Excellence.
- Along with hands‑on experience, ongoing mentoring, buddy support, and an exciting graduate cohort of activities, you will also have access to our Tech Academy program which is designed to continue your personal and professional learning.
- Under our Tech Academy, you will hear from guest speaker events about the latest tech trends, participate in hackathons, complete code warrior training (for developers and engineers), and be given access to over 6,000 on‑demand training courses from Project Management, Data Science through to Yoga or meditation.
- Throughout your rotations, you will work with a raft of platform architects, tech engineers, analysts and tech strategists that work cohesively to develop, implement, and maintain systems that build business value and drive performance.
Job Description
- Deliver claims technology solutions by contributing to the design, build, testing and deployment of high‑quality systems.
- Collaborate across disciplines to drive outcomes across the end‑to‑end claims lifecycle.
- Support claims transformation by working on both future‑state platforms and critical enterprise systems.
- Apply strong engineering practices to develop production‑ready code that meets quality and reliability standards.
- Improve system performance and stability through modern engineering approaches such as automation and continuous delivery.
- Build technical capability and confidence by actively learning and contributing within a large‑scale enterprise environment.
Qualifications
- A strong academic track record (distinction average or above) in a technology‑related discipline; Computer Science, Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, Data Science and/or Data Analytics.
- IT curiosity with a high passion for technology and be a logical problem solver with critical thinking skills.
- Ability to juggle multiple tasks in a high‑paced working environment and work both independently and as part of a team.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Well‑rounded background with experience across community and/or extra‑curricular activities.
- Leadership qualities developed through high school, university, work experience and/or extracurricular activities.
Eligibility
Applicants must be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, or hold permanent residency, and have completed an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in the last two years or before the program start date. This role is Sydney‑based.
