ReelChess is a fast growing chess coaching business operating across 10+ schools in NSW. We run our own open tournament circuit, deliver a curriculum built around the 7 Pillars of real life problem‑solving, and have established a media brand with over 10 million views across TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube.
We're hiring a Business Development Manager to lead the expansion of our school partnerships from 10 to 50+ over the next 18 months.
Sydney, NSW · Full‑time · $100,000 base + super + uncapped commission (OTE $140,000–$160,000)
The role
You'll own the school partnership pipeline end to end. This is a founder‑adjacent role with a direct reporting line to the founder, real influence on growth strategy, and a commission structure tied to the schools you bring in.
What the work looks like
- Principal, deputy, and P&C meetings, in person and on video
- Running demo sessions at schools alongside our coaching team
- Opening new partnership channels: OSHC providers, enrichment networks, independent schools, local councils
- Weekly pipeline and strategy sessions with the founder
- Representing ReelChess at education and community events
What success looks like in year one
- 15+ new school partnerships signed
- 2 or 3 new partnership channels opened beyond direct‑to‑school
- A documented playbook for how ReelChess wins schools, repeatable without you
What you bring
- A genuine track record closing partnerships or B2B deals, education, enrichment, or adjacent sectors preferred
- Working knowledge of the NSW education landscape (primary, high school, independent, Opportunity Class, selective, extension programs)
- Credibility in a staff room and confidence in front of parents
- High agency, you want to own a number, not hit a quota
You don't need to play chess. You need to know how schools buy.
What's on offer
- $100,000 base + super
- Uncapped commission per signed school, realistic OTE $140,000–$160,000
- Direct access to the founder and genuine input on company direction
- A brand with real reach and a product parents actively seek out
- The opportunity to build a growth function from the ground up at one of NSW's most recognisable chess brands
How to apply
Easy Apply via LinkedIn with your CV and a short cover note answering:
- The best partnership deal you've closed, what was the specific move that got it over the line?
- One idea for how ReelChess could expand its school base beyond cold outreach
Short is fine. Every application is read by the ReelChess team.
