About Mt Arthur Coal

Mt Arthur Coal is an open‑cut coal mine 100 per cent owned by BHP. Located in the Hunter Valley, New South Wales it's the largest producer of energy coal in the region, operating alongside olive growers, wine makers, horse breeders and the nearby residential community of Muswellbrook. About The Role

• Act as the site structural engineering authority for CHPP structures and rail mounted machinery.
• Oversee, maintain, and continuously improve the Mt Arthur Coal Handling Plants Asset Integrity Management System for working structures, and rail mounted machines.
• Review 3rd party structural inspection reports, maintain inspection records within the sites Defect Register ensuring remediation works are raised, prioritised and tracked in 1SAP.
• Lead and facilitate root cause analyses for structural defects in accordance to BHP’s Defect Elimination (DE) Standards.
• Maintain, Improve & Create Asset Strategies, Preventative Maintenance & Correct Task lists.
• Initiate amendments to Master Data identified during task execution.
• Ensure all remediation works comply with statutory and the Company’s safety standards.
• Providing scope of works for structural remedial works, for simple tasks.
• Engage and manage the relevant external engineering vendors if detailed methodologies are required to complete the required works.

About You

• You will bring strong technical capability, practical site experience, and a proactive approach to asset integrity and risk management.
• Tertiary qualification in Structural, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering with proven experience in the field of structural engineering.
• Engineering registration and/or Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status is desirable.
• A solid understanding of Asset Integrity, Maintenance and Reliability principles with previous experience in aligned industries including mining, oil & gas, chemical, minerals processing or heavy industry.
