Job Description
- Act as a technical subject matter expert in heavy industrial mechanical engineering, with a focus on bulk materials handling
- Lead and deliver engineering assessments, audits, design reviews and original mechanical designs
- Design and review conveyors, transfer stations, stackers, reclaimers, ship loaders, crushers and screens
- Undertake advanced engineering analysis including fatigue, stress and condition assessments
- Ensure compliance with Australian and international standards (AS, ISO, FEM)
- Provide senior technical oversight, risk identification and quality assurance
- Review, check and certify engineering deliverables
- Support and lead work‑winning activities through early client engagement and proposal development
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, asset owners and operators
- Mentor and develop engineers and contribute to capability growth
The Successful Applicant
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- CPEng (Engineers Australia) - mandatory
- 10+ years' post‑graduate experience, ideally in an engineering consultancy
- Strong experience in bulk materials handling and heavy industrial systems
- Proven capability in mechanical design, design review and advanced analysis
- Solid knowledge of Australian and international engineering standards
- Confident client‑facing communicator with credibility at senior level
