Job Opportunity: Waste Operations Logistics Officer

We are seeking a proactive and organised Waste Operations Logistics Officer to coordinate and support the efficient movement of materials, equipment, and resources across waste operations. This role plays a key part in ensuring timely service delivery, compliance with operational standards, and optimal resource utilisation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate daily logistics activities including vehicle movements, deliveries, and equipment transfers
• Maintain accurate records of schedules, inventory, and documentation
• Liaise with internal teams and external contractors to ensure smooth operations
• Monitor logistics performance and identify areas for improvement
• Assist with procurement and stock control
• Ensure compliance with WHS, environmental, and policies
• Support emergency or unplanned logistics needs as required

Fleet & Coverage:

• Servicing 25 sites across Shoalhaven, Illawarra, and Sydney
• Managing 20 vehicles and up to 15 contractor vehicles

Essential Criteria:

• Certificate III in Supply Chain Operations or Logistics, or relevant experience
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Proficiency in logistics software (e.g., GPS tracking, inventory systems)
• Knowledge of Chain of Responsibility (COR) requirements
• Current Class C Driver’s Licence
• Proof of Australian residency/citizenship or valid work visa

Desirable Criteria:

• Experience in local government or waste management logistics
• Understanding of environmental regulations related to waste transport
• Ability to interpret and apply Council policies
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills
• Familiarity with the local government environment
