Job description

About the role

Lead a team that helps deliver essential oral healthcare services to school-aged patients across Metro North. Working closely with Dental Officers, Oral Health Therapists, Dental Assistants and service leaders, you will play a key role in maintaining high clinical standards, supporting staff development and ensuring the smooth operation of dental services. Approximately 40-50% of the role involves clinical duties, providing the opportunity to remain actively engaged in patient care while contributing to broader service management responsibilities.

  • Lead, supervise and support Dental Assistants through workforce management, performance development, training and mentoring initiatives.
  • Coordinate the operation of fixed clinics and dental vans, including maintenance, equipment management, stock control and service support activities.
  • Monitor infection control, sterilisation, radiography and quality assurance processes to ensure compliance with relevant standards and best practice requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with oral health clinicians, managers and stakeholders to support service delivery, workforce capability and achievement of operational objectives.
