We are seeking a full-time, Registered Nurse working within the Medical & Surgical Department. Your role will be to deliver excellence in clinical leadership and provide safety and quality to patients and members of the multidisciplinary team.

As a Gen Med/Surg Registered Nurse, your responsibilities will include:

• Adjust specialized medical equipment as needed, as well as interpret and record measurements
• Monitor patients’ vitals and report adverse reactions to medications in a timely manner
• Answer questions and educate patients and their families on surgical procedures and post-surgery care
• Led successful quality improvement and safety management project/s to deliver desired outcomes
• Collaborate on discharge planning with the healthcare team
• Act as a role model for Safe Practice

The hospital offers highly specialised services including extensive neurosurgery, neurology, advanced coronary care, cardiothoracic, orthopaedic and general surgery. These services are supported by a 10-bed intensive care unit, 4-bed acute coronary care unit and 6-bed neurosurgical high dependency unit.

• Current AHPRA Registration
• Previous surgical/acute medical and rehabilitation experience required of 2 years or more
• Demonstrated professional development
• Demonstrated ability to show initiative and work within a team environment

• Sound clinical decision making and problem solving skills
• Works well independently and within a team
• Excellent communication skills
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in acute care
