Job description

The Junior Operations Lead is a key role in supporting and driving the core operational functions of Fred Media. The role involves managing all systems and operations related to materials input and output, content sales, content acquisitions, financial and legal processes, and the operation of FAST channels.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Co-ordinating and maintaining sales and client databases and workflow systems from pitch to delivery
  • Supporting the sales team to adhere to and consistently apply processes
  • Providing weekly reports to the Accounts Department on new completed Fred deals and invoices that can be issued to licensees
  • Supporting the Accounts Department to chase outstanding licensee payments
  • Regularly liaising with the Accounts Department and providing all information required for acquisition partners and third party royalty reports
  • Overseeing the delivery or retention of all deliverables and associated materials in compliance with contractual requirements, including licensee payments
  • Working alongside staff responsible for rights administration to ensure that the Rights Tracker database and content management system is accurate and up-to-date
  • Optimising and maintaining operational efficiencies including through Rights Tracker system improvements and automation capability
  • Overseeing all operational aspects of WTFN owned and operated FAST channels
  • Collaborating with key staff across materials and delivery functions to coordinate deliverables required by the sales team and clients
  • Coordinating with the legal team to ensure effective management of all Fred distribution legal matters
  • Managing all logistics and operations related to the Fred and Radar teams’ attendance at key local and international markets such as MIPCOM
  • Updating and maintaining the Fred website including latest catalogue additions
  • Overseeing the creation of digital and/or physical market catalogues and driving regular email marketing campaigns in consultation with the sales team
  • All other associated tasks and responsibilities within the scope of your skills and experience

Required skills and experience

  • Demonstrated experience and expertise working in a fast-paced content distribution environment, with a proven track record in bringing together different parts of a complex business to achieve strong commercial outcomes
  • Minimum five years experience in broadcast distribution
  • Knowledge and understanding of the end-to-end post-production process related to distribution sales from pitching to delivery of materials
  • Experience in organising participation at major international markets such as MIPCOM
  • Demonstrated capability to prioritise a broad scope of tasks and multiple deadlines
  • Proven ability to be client-facing with acquisitions partners
  • Knowledge and understanding of FAST channel operations, rights management tools and processes
  • Knowledge and practical experience of the following tools would be helpful: Rights Tracker, Wordpress and other website CMS, Massive, Vimeo

Salary and contract

Hybrid Role: Melbourne office base and 1 – 2 days working from home

Ongoing Position with six (6) month probationary period
