We are seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Consultant to support Commonwealth clients delivering complex ICT procurement, sourcing, contract management and vendor governance outcomes across software, hardware, cloud and professional services environments.

This is a senior consulting role suited to someone who can lead complex procurement engagements, provide trusted commercial advice to senior stakeholders, mentor consultants and procurement specialists, and deliver strategic procurement and commercial outcomes within fast-paced government environments.

You will work closely with client executives, procurement teams, technical specialists and vendors to shape procurement strategies, manage commercial risk and drive value from ICT investments.

What you'll be doing

• Leading complex ICT procurement activities including RFQs, RFTs, panel sourcing and strategic market engagements
• Developing procurement strategies, commercial approaches and sourcing recommendations aligned to client objectives
• Leading procurement documentation development, including evaluation criteria, RFx documentation, approval briefs and contract documentation
• Managing and mentoring teams of procurement, commercial and vendor management specialists across client engagements
• Advising senior client stakeholders on procurement strategy, commercial risk, vendor management and contract governance
• Working directly with ICT vendors on pricing, commercial negotiations and contractual outcomes
• Reviewing ICT contracts, software licensing arrangements and vendor proposals
• Leading commercial risk management, procurement governance and assurance activities
• Supporting contract negotiations, contract variations and post-award vendor management activities
• Working closely with technical teams, asset management specialists and client stakeholders to deliver successful procurement outcomes

What we’re looking for

• Demonstrated experience leading complex ICT procurement, sourcing or contract management activities within government or enterprise environments
• Strong understanding of Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs), PGPA requirements and procurement governance frameworks
• Experience developing procurement strategies and managing high-value or high-risk procurement activities
• Proven ability to engage, influence and advise senior stakeholders and executives
• Experience managing procurement teams, project teams or specialist delivery resources
• Strong commercial negotiation and vendor management capability
• Exposure to software licensing, cloud procurement, ICT sourcing or vendor governance activities
• Ability to operate independently in client-facing consulting environments
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and relationship management skills

Nice to have

• Whole-of-Government vendor expertise, including Microsoft, Oracle, IBM or other major technology providers
• Defence or Federal Government experience
• Contract management and vendor governance experience
• Exposure to ITAM, software asset management or software licensing environments
• Current Baseline, NV1 or NV2 clearance

You will need to be an Australian Citizen and ideally hold a valid Federal Government Security Clearance to be eligible for this role.
