The New Acland Coal Mine (NAC), a thin seam open cut mining operation is owned and managed by New Hope Group. NAC is based 35km north-west of Toowoomba and plays a key role in the Darling Downs region as an employer and economic contributor since it began operation in October 2002.

With stage 3 approved in 2022, the operation is set to continue production into the 2030s. When fully ramped-up, Stage 3 operations are expected to deliver about five million tonnes of saleable product per annum.

About the role:

As NAC continues to progress, we are now seeking experienced Mobile Maintenance Diesel Fitters (Mechanical Trade) to join the Mobile Maintenance Team on a permanent, full-time basis.Working a 7/7 day / night rotating roster and reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Mobile Maintenance Diesel Fitter plays a pivotal role in performing safe & effective mobile machinery maintenance and delivering machine availability targets.

What you will do:

• Perform mechanical repairs and maintenance activities on a wide range of Caterpillar, Hitachi & Letourneau heavy earthmoving machinery
• Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing
• Conduct in-pit breakdowns repairs and fault finding
• Complete machine rebuilds and component change outs across the mining fleet
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with site procedures and safety requirements

To be considered for these opportunities you will bring:

• Diesel Fitting Trade Qualifications
• Proven heavy mobile earthmoving equipment experience in a production mining environment
• Current coal board medical and Standard 11 Induction (Or willing to obtain)
• Experience with Caterpillar, Hitachi and Letourneau machines preferable
• Queensland driver’s licence (manual)
• Experience with computer-based maintenance systems (desirable)

• The ability to contribute to and work as part of team in a fast-paced environment
