A busy, community-focused medical centre in tropical Far North Queensland is seeking a General Practitioner who is passionate about community medicine. Located in Cairns, this DPA-approved practice has a high patient volume and has been providing medical care to the local community since 2011.
The predominately bulk-billing centre operates Monday to Friday with optional Sunday work. The facility is well-equipped with 11 consultation rooms, a four-bay treatment room, and a dedicated procedure room. Practitioners will join a collegial team of 11 doctors who have special interests in skin cancer medicine, family medicine, and Indigenous health, with a strong focus on providing medical care and advocacy for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients. An extensive administrative team and full-time nurses, who are trained in all treatment room and Chronic Disease Management (CDM) duties, provide support, allowing doctors to focus on practising medicine.
The practice provides clinical autonomy and flexible working arrangements. It is a registrar training facility with supervisor opportunities available. The practice's partnership with the RACGP simplifies the process of achieving and recording CPD requirements, with free in-house opportunities and discounted registration for industry events also provided. Practitioners with a special interest in skin, aesthetics, and occupational medicine are supported. The practice is backed by a major healthcare division, providing sophisticated IT, marketing, and finance services with 24-hour IT support, ensuring a smooth and efficient practice environment. Located in Cairns, the practice offers an excellent work-life balance in a region known for its extraordinary natural wonders, from the Great Barrier Reef to the Daintree Rainforest.
