Head of Program Delivery - SAP transformation (payroll)
Contract to 23/07/2027 with possible extension | Brisbane CBD |Hybrid Working

We are partnering with a leading Queensland Government client to recruit an experienced Head of Program Delivery - SAP transformation (payroll). In this role you will provide leadership, direction, integration and delivery oversight across the program, ensuring agreed business outcomes, milestones, budgets and benefits are achieved.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and direction across all HCMS Program workstreams and delivery teams, ensuring alignment to program objectives and successful achievement of business outcomes. Equally managing performance of those reporting in.
  • Establish delivery priorities and drive accountability for execution across the program
  • Hold accountability for the planning, execution and delivery of program workstreams, ensuring delivery against approved scope, schedule, budget, quality and benefits targets.
  • Maintain program governance, reporting, risk and issue management frameworks, escalation and resolution of delivery matters.
  • Lead and direct Senior Project Managers and delivery teams, setting priorities, resolving delivery challenges and ensuring consistent delivery standards across the program.
  • Serve as the primary delivery advisor to the Executive Director, providing recommendations, progress updates, risk assessments and delivery forecasts.

What we’re looking for?

  • Extensive experience leading large, complex HCMS and payroll transformation programs in government or regulated industries, with strong understanding of cloud-based HR solutions and SAP SuccessFactors.
  • Deep payroll delivery experience, including payroll operations, legislative and industrial compliance, award/EBA interpretation, complex pay rules, leave and entitlement management, payroll testing, and parallel pay runs.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and lead governance frameworks, manage cross-functional teams, and oversee program-level budgets and reporting systems.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with a proven ability to influence senior executives and navigate complex organisational environments.
  • Strong strategic thinking and decision-making skills, with the ability to balance long-term objectives with immediate priorities.
  • Certifications (Preferred):
  • Prince2 or Project Management certification.
  • SAP SuccessFactors certification or relevant HRIS certification.
