We're expanding our teams across the Sunshine Coast and are looking for experienced, reliable Disability Support Workers who want to work with a professional, established and registered NDIS provider where quality support, good communication and consistency genuinely matter.

Looking for support work that fits around your life? We have a variety of permanent part-time and casual opportunities, with different shift patterns available including long day shifts, morning and afternoon shifts, inactive sleepovers, weekdays and weekends. Thursday to Sunday availability is particularly sought after, although we welcome a range of availability.

Our participants have a diverse range of support needs, so we’re looking for dedicated support workers who bring skills across disability and mental health support. Experience supporting people with dementia or cognitive decline is particularly valued for some of our current opportunities, along with experience in behaviour support, mental health, personal care, mobility and complex support needs.

Whether you’re looking for regular, ongoing shifts with participants you know and support consistently, or greater flexibility and work-life balance, we have a range of available roles across SIL & SDA homes and individual supports.

We focus on thoughtfully matching our Support Workers with participants based on availability, experience, skills and suitability, helping create positive and consistent support relationships.

Depending on your experience and availability, shifts may include:

• Full Day shifts
• Morning and afternoon shifts
• Weekday and weekend opportunities
• Regular, ongoing rostered shifts where the right match is found
• Flexible shifts to support work-life balance, including the option of a rotating fortnightly roster and the ability to pick up additional shifts to increase your earning opportunity.

Our participants have a broad range of support needs. We welcome applicants with experience in dementia and cognitive decline, mental health, acquired brain injury, intellectual disability, behaviour support, seizure management, diabetes, non-verbal communication, mobility support, manual handling and hoisting.

What you’ll be doing

This is hands-on disability support. Depending on the participant you're matched with, your role may include:

• Supporting personal care, hygiene and daily routines
• Medication assistance
• Manual handling, mobility support and hoisting
• Preparing meals and supporting household routines
• Supporting participants to attend appointments, activities and community outings
• Providing emotional and psychosocial support
• Supporting choice, independence and meaningful participation in everyday life
• Implementing behaviour support and other participant support strategies
• Recognising and responding appropriately to changes in a participant's wellbeing
• Completing clear, professional progress notes and other required documentation
• Working collaboratively with other Support Workers and Sapphire's leadership team
• Following participant plans, procedures and safety requirements consistently

Most importantly, you’ll be present and engaged. Great support isn't just completing a list of tasks – it’s getting to know the person you're supporting, providing calm and consistent support and understanding what a good day looks like for them.

Who we’re looking for

You'll be someone who is:

• Experienced and confident in disability, mental health or complex support
• Reliable – when you commit to a shift, people are relying on you
• Calm and able to use good judgement when situations change
• Comfortable working independently while also being a strong team member
• Professional in your communication and documentation
• Respectful of participants' homes, choices, privacy and dignity
• Open to feedback and committed to continuing to learn
• Able to build genuine relationships while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries
• Someone who notices what needs doing and takes responsibility for doing it well

What you’ll need

• Experience in disability, mental health, aged care or another relevant support environment
• Full Australian working rights
• Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, Aged Care or a similar relevant qualification; nursing or equivalent qualifications also welcomed
• Current First Aid and CPR
• Current driver's licence and comprehensive vehicle insurance
• NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
• NDIS Worker Orientation Module
• Working With Children Check – preferred
