As our fleet continues to grow, we’re looking for an experienced Field Service Mechanic to join our Regency Park, SA team.

This is more than just a service and repair role. You’ll work across a diverse fleet of heavy earthmoving and construction equipment, including Komatsu, Hitachi, CAT and XCMG, giving you exposure to a wide range of equipment, technology and diagnostics. With Brooks Hire holding an exclusive deal with XCMG, you’ll also have the opportunity to work closely with the OEM, gaining valuable exposure to XCMG’s technical support, systems and latest equipment technology, with opportunities to further develop your skills through OEM training.

For the right person, there’s also the opportunity to gain OEM training and exposure to XCMG technical support, giving you the chance to develop your skills and become a specialist in the equipment you work on.

About the role

Based at our Regency branch, you’ll be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing our hire fleet, both in the workshop and out in the field.

You’ll work on a wide variety of machinery, meaning no two days are exactly the same.

Your day-to-day will include:

• Servicing, maintaining and repairing heavy earthmoving equipment

• Diagnosing hydraulic, electrical and mechanical faults

• Carrying out breakdown repairs and preventative maintenance

• Fault finding and troubleshooting equipment in the field

• Dismantling, inspecting, rebuilding and replacing components

• Completing testing and adjustments following repairs

• Working across a range of XCMG and other heavy equipment

• Supporting customers and branch operations when required

• Maintaining a high standard of safety and workmanship

What we’re looking for

• Australian recognised trade qualification as a Heavy Diesel, Mobile Plant

• Strong mechanical, hydraulic and electrical diagnostic skills

• Experience working on heavy earthmoving or construction equipment

• Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving ability

• Current Australian Driver’s Licence

• HR Licence preferred

• Forklift / High Risk Work licences are advantageous

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong communication skills

• A genuine interest in learning new equipment and technology
