Introduction
A South Eastern QLD hospital requires a Registrar/PHO in Emergency Medicine from 17/08/2026 to 01/02/2027.
Responsibilities and Requirements
- Post Graduate Year 3+ and comfortable working night shifts as solo night with standby support from SMOs (non‑negotiable).
- Mixed roster - Emergency and Inpatient/General Medical 9.5‑hour shifts – day, evening, and night shifts.
- Rural experience advantageous but not essential.
Supervision
- Onsite supervision by SMO.
- Nights will include remote supervision by a SMO in town, via phone.
Travel and Accommodation
- Accommodation will be provided, either onsite or motel.
- Economy travel to/from locum’s hometown airport and return.
- Access to car hire or fleet vehicle.
The rate is $1075.00/day.
Location and Facility
- Located in the South Burnett region of Queensland 218 km north west of Brisbane, this rural town is known as the peanut capital of Australia and has approximately 10,000 residents.
- This hospital is a 52‑bed facility and offers services including emergency, outpatient, surgical, pathology and maternity.
