Health & Safety Officer – AAAK Projects

Location : Lansdowne, NSW 2163

Employment Type : Full-Time

Salary : AUD $85,000 – $95,000 per annum (commensurate with experience)

Role Overview :

We are seeking a dedicated Health & Safety Officer to oversee work health and safety (WHS) practices across our construction sites. This role is critical in identifying hazards, reducing risks, and promoting a culture of safety and compliance in line with occupational health and safety laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Develop, implement, and review WHS policies and procedures in accordance with relevant legislation
  • Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions
  • Deliver WHS inductions and ongoing training to employees and contractors
  • Monitor compliance with safe work practices and maintain records of incidents, near-misses, and safety audits
  • Investigate workplace incidents and assist in the development of mitigation and prevention strategies
  • Liaise with site managers, project supervisors, and external consultants to promote safety awareness
  • Prepare and submit reports on WHS performance and improvement initiatives
  • Ensure PPE is available and correctly used across all work areas

Required Skills and Qualifications :

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Work Health and Safety, Occupational Health and Safety, or related field
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar WHS role, preferably in the construction industry
  • Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, codes of practice, and risk management systems
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to engage with workers at all levels
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and WHS documentation systems
  • Construction Induction (White Card) is mandatory
  • Certification in incident investigation and / or internal auditing (desirable)
