Fire Safety Engineering Intern (Nov 2026)

Join our Buildings & Places team in Brisbane as a Fire Safety Engineering Intern. With a strong pipeline of exciting projects ahead this is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the field of fire safety engineering.

How youll make a difference:

• Support the team in delivering fire engineering projects from early concept through to completion helping to develop practical performance-based fire safety strategies aligned with relevant codes and standards.
• Assist with fire risk assessments evacuation analysis and smoke control modelling and help produce clear technical reports and documentation to support design decisions and approvals.
• Stay up to date with fire engineering regulations industry trends and new technologies applying this knowledge under supervision to projects and continually improving the quality of deliverables.

Qualifications :

• Summer Intern attributes:Interns who are curious and excited to apply their studies in a professional environment. Youll bring strong communication and teamwork skills a positive and proactive attitude adaptability and a commitment to professionalism and integrity.
• Bachelors Degree: You must be in your penultimate year of a Bachelors or Postgraduate degree in any Engineering discipline and have an interest in or understanding of fire safety engineering.
• Commencement:Able to work full time hours from mid November 2026 mid February 2027.
• Drivers Licence: A drivers licence is essential for the role.
• Working Rights: You must have full working rights to work in Australia or New Zealand before applying. We do accept candidates with student and graduate visas.
