Compliance & Safety Partner

Edge Early Learning is seeking an experienced Compliance and Safety Partner to join our Quality and Safety team.

About this role

Reporting to the National Compliance and Safety Manager, you will act as a subject-matter expert in National Law and Regulations, providing authoritative advice and making decisions that protect children, educators and the organisation.

You will support services across Edge by assessing incidents and complaints, determining regulatory notification and Reportable Conduct Scheme requirements, supporting investigations and strengthening compliance capability through coaching and guidance.

This role operates primarily in a centralised, call-centre style environment, managing incidents, investigations and desktop audits through digital systems.

The role is based in Brisbane working in the Support Office 3 days a week.

Key Responsibilitie

• Assess incidents and complaints against Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations and Reportable Conduct Frameworks
• Make decisions regarding regulatory notifications, escalation pathways
• Support and contribute to investigations, including evidence review and risk assessment
• Manage and analyse incident and complaint data to identify trends and systemic risks
• Conduct desktop compliance audits and support internal audit processes
• Provide high level, risk based advice to support safe environments for children and adults
• Coach Centre Directors and leadership teams on regulatory interpretation and decision making
• Implement and embed compliance and safety policies into daily practice
• Support the use and administration of 1Place as the primary compliance system

About you, you will bring:

• Demonstrated, practical working knowledge of the Education and Care Services National Law and National Regulations
• Experience in compliance, incident management, investigations and regulatory decision making (ECEC)
• Confidence in applying legislation to real world scenarios and making sound, defensible decisions
• Strong attention to detail, keen analytical mindset and ability to prioritise risk in a high volume environment
• Clear written communication skills and high attention to detail
• A coaching mindset — able to build capability, not just enforce compliance

Requirements

• Relevant tertiary qualifications (Early Childhood, WHS, Compliance or similar preferred)
• Current Working with Children Check / Blue Card. There will be a requirement to obtain ACT and SA Working with Vulnerable Person Checks upon being a successful candidate.
• Valid driver’s licence (some travel may be required)
