Were looking for an experienced Workforce Capability Specialist to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is an exciting opportunity to shape how we support Employees We Support (EWS) to achieve safe meaningful and sustainable employment outcomes.

In this role youll combine your clinical expertise with practical workplace solutions partnering with leaders health professionals employees families and support networks to ensure employment decisions promote safety dignity wellbeing and inclusion.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys influencing organisational practice developing frameworks and processes and making a lasting impact within the disability and aged care sectors.

About the Role

As our Workforce Capability Specialist youll provide expert assessment advice and recommendations regarding work capacity role suitability and employment pathways.

Working across the organisation youll assess clinical functional and workplace information to support evidence-based decisions that enable Employees We Support to succeed safely and sustainably in the workplace.

Youll partner with leaders to define and document the inherent requirements of roles conduct workplace and functional capacity assessments identify risks recommend reasonable adjustments and support proactive workforce planning through ongoing health and capability monitoring.

A key component of this role is designing and implementing sustainable frameworks procedures and governance processes that support consistent decision-making ongoing health monitoring and best practice workforce capability management.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct functional capacity and workplace assessments to determine role suitability.
• Assess clinical functional and workplace information to provide evidence-based recommendations.
• Partner with leaders to identify and document the inherent requirements of roles.
• Develop and implement workforce capability frameworks procedures and governance processes that support safe and sustainable employment.
• Recommend practical workplace adjustments that support employee capability while meeting operational requirements.
• Identify and manage workplace risks while balancing employee choice dignity and wellbeing.
• Collaborate with health practitioners leaders employees families and support networks to achieve positive employment outcomes.
• Support proactive workforce planning through sustainable health monitoring and early intervention strategies.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to organisational best practice.

About You

You are an experienced allied health or workplace rehabilitation professional who enjoys solving complex workplace challenges influencing positive outcomes and building sustainable systems and processes.

Youll bring:

• A degree in Occupational Therapy Allied Health Work Health and Safety or a related discipline.
• Current professional registration where applicable (for example AHPRA registration for Occupational Therapists).
• At least four years experience in a similar role.
• Demonstrated experience within the disability and/or aged care sector.
• Experience in injury management workplace rehabilitation or return-to-work coordination.
• Demonstrated experience conducting functional capacity and workplace assessments.
• Experience designing implementing and embedding organisational frameworks procedures and governance processes.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence and build trusted relationships across multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong judgement discretion and a practical solutions-focused approach.

Highly regarded:

• Knowledge of employment legislation workplace rehabilitation and Work Health and Safety frameworks.
• Experience balancing person-centred practice with organisational risk management and operational requirements.
