LEISURE & LIFESTYLE CO-ORDINATOR - IONA

We are seeking a Leisure & Lifestyle Coordinator to work in a part time (32 hours/fortnight) capacity based at Iona Digby Harris Home Nhill.

RENUMERATION:

• Health and Allied Services, Managers and Administrative Workers (Victorian Public Sector) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement 2025-2027.
• Estimated Base Hourly Rate Part Time: IN33 - Leisure & Lifestyle Coordinator Grade 3 $35.99 to $37.43.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

• The Leisure and Lifestyle Coordinator is responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating programs that enhance the wellbeing, engagement, and social connection of the resident.
• Must consider residents’ likes, preferences, existing community, and
  family involvement.
• The primary goal of a Leisure and Lifestyle Coordinator is to enrich the lives of residents by creating a vibrant, fulfilling, and supportive community.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA:

Essential:

• Certificate IV or Diploma of Leisure and Health (or equivalent).
• Effective communication and organisational skills.
• The ability to work independently and lead a team.
• Have a clear understanding of the Aged Care Standards pertaining to residents Leisure and Lifestyle.
• Have efficient time management skills devoted to resident’s personal lifestyle programs, outings, required documentation and planning.

Desirable:

• Have previous experience working in aged care or community services.
• Competence in using computer programs including Microsoft Word, Outlook and electronic resident documentation system and other databases.
• Demonstrate flexibility to manage programs, schedules, and resources
  effectively.

PRE-REQUISITES:

• NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.
• Working with Children Check.
• Fully vaccinated (including influenza) as per current Department of Health Directives.
• Australian Driver’s Licence.

KEY RESPONSBILITIES:

• Plan and coordinate leisure and lifestyle activities tailored to individual and group needs.
• Conduct lifestyle assessments and contribute to care plans in collaboration with nursing staff.
• Mentor and lead the lifestyle team and volunteers, fostering a positive and collaborative environment.
• Encourage participation in social, recreational and physical activities to promote autonomy and wellbeing.
• Maintain accurate records of activities, assessments and resident feedback.
• Ensure programs align with health standards, accreditation requirements and organisational policies.
• Report any concerns regarding the welfare and deviation of health status of any resident to the Nurse Unit Manager or delegate.
