Group People & Culture Manager

Our client is a highly reputable employer within the manufacturing industry. Due to continuous growth, we're seeking a Group People & Culture Manager to join the team.

This leadership position reports directly to the CEO, with group-wide accountability for Human Resources (HR), Industrial Relations (IR), Employee Accommodation, Recruitment and Wellness and Injury Management (including workers compensation) across 2 sites and associated properties.

The role sets and drives the group People and Culture strategy, leads all Enterprise Agreement negotiations end to end, all people related matters and provides proactive support to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and department managers, ensuring consistent standards, policies, and practices group-wide.


The role:

• Develop, own, and drive the group-wide People and Culture strategy aligned to business objectives.
• Operate as a proactive member of the Senior Leadership Team, identifying and raising people-related risks, issues, and opportunities before they escalate, and driving them through to resolution.
• Take full end-to-end leadership of and accountability for all Enterprise Agreement negotiations across the group, including strategy, mandate development with the SLT, negotiation, balloting, and approval.
• Provide firm, commercially sound advice and hands-on support to the Managing Director, CEO, CFO, Group Managers, and department managers (including Operations and Maintenance) on all HR, IR, and ER matters.
• Lead workforce planning and end to end recruitment across both sites to meet current and future operational requirements.
• Take responsibility to maintain and update of People and Culture policies, procedures, systems, and standards ensuring consistency across all sites and group entities.
• Report to the SLT on agreed People and Culture metrics (turnover, absenteeism, vacancies, ER/IR matters, compliance) on a regular basis.
• Report any WHS incidents, hazards, or concerns to the relevant person including responsible for maintaining and maximising engagement with the WHS Consultative Committees at both sites.
• Identify opportunities for cost-saving measures and recommend strategies for financial improvement across the People and Culture function group-wide.
• Facilitate performance reviews and, where applicable, develop plans to maximise employee potential.
• Facilitate and monitor the Employee Assistance Program.

What we are looking for:

Essential requirements

• 7+ years of proven experience leading a People and Culture / HR function at a senior level, including multi-site responsibility.
• Demonstrated experience leading Enterprise Agreement negotiations end to end in a unionised environment.
• Strong understanding of HR and IR legislation, including the Fair Work Act and modern awards.
• Experience in developing policies and procedures.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills, including managing HR professionals.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
• Current driver's licence and willingness to travel regularly

Highly desirable

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Business/HR, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Experience within manufacturing, heavy industrial/regulated industry.
• Experience with international recruitment programs (PALM Scheme, Industry Labour Agreements, visa management).
