Lycopodium is seeking a Field Engineer (Underground / Blind Bore) for a new gold project based in Western Australia.

Reporting to the Area Manager - Mining Infrastructure, the Field Engineer will provide technical assistance in the planning, designing, evaluating, executing and handover of the assigned project in accordance with Company, Client and Project requirements.

The tasks you'll perform

• Assisting with ensuring compliance with the project specific requirements and current industry work codes and standards.
• Contributing to project control activities including scheduling, forecasting and other deliverables to a consistently high standard.
• Assisting with and perform procurement, inspection and expediting activities.
• Carrying out assigned project activities, including site engineer duties, in a manner that priorities safety, environment, community and industrial relations.
• Assisting the Project Manager in developing and maintaining the project quality management facility to ensure project quality targets and reporting are met.
• Contributing to the preparation of construction reports, contracts and schedules, managing tender and contract documentation for review in accordance with quality assurance.

The expertise you'll bring

• Bachelor of Engineering, preferably mechanical, mining or civil engineering.
• Min 5 years’ postgraduate experience in a similar position, ideally within an EPCM environment.
• Demonstrated underground mining construction experience.
• Experience administering reimbursable or open-book contracts, including daily verification of labour timesheets, plant hours, dayworks, delivery dockets, quantities, standby and delay records.
• Ability to reconcile contractor records against actual site activities, approved resources and progress before they are passed to the commercial team.
• Strong contractor supervision and interface-management skills across civil, mechanical, piping and E&I works.
• Experience reviewing drawings, specifications, ITPs, ITRs, test packs and contractor work packs.
• Familiarity with hold and witness points, inspections, NCRs, punch-listing, commissioning and handover documentation.
• Competence in short-term planning, progress measurement and coordination of contractor look-aheads.
• Strong understanding of mining HSE requirements, permits, isolations and coordination between underground and surface activities.
• Good written communication and competency with Excel and sharepoint. Procore experience would be useful but not required.
• Willingness to work a site/FIFO roster and coordinate with supervision across day- and night-shift activities.
