Join our Insurance team as a Claims Officer Commercial Property Liability Claims.

This is a permanent full-time role open to applicants based in Brisbane and Sydney.

Join Suncorp as a Claims Officer in our Commercial Property Liability Claims team where youll manage your own portfolio of claims from lodgement through to settlement.

This is a hands-on claims role where youll use your judgement problem-solving skills and claims experience to assess claims determine liability and work towards fair and cost-effective outcomes. Youll work closely with customers brokers legal representatives and other stakeholders balancing customer needs with sound claims decisions and business requirements.

What youll do

• Manage a portfolio of commercial property liability claims from lodgement through to settlement
• Take ownership of your claims and ensure they are progressed efficiently and within required timeframes
• Review claim information reports and supporting documentation to determine appropriate next steps
• Assess policy response and liability and make fair informed decisions
• Communicate with customers brokers legal representatives and other stakeholders throughout the claims process
• Negotiate settlements and identify opportunities to deliver fair and cost-effective claim outcomes
• Manage customer concerns and challenging conversations with empathy and professionalism
• Maintain accurate claim records and ensure all claims are managed in line with compliance requirements KPIs and SLAs

What youll bring

• End-to-end claims management experience with the ability to manage a portfolio of claims through to settlement or finalisation
• Experience in an insurance claims environment ideally across property liability commercial claims or a similar claims discipline
• Experience assessing claims reviewing information and reports making decisions and progressing claims through to resolution
• Strong analytical problem-solving and critical thinking skills with the confidence to make decisions and manage outcomes
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships with customers and stakeholders
• Resilience and the ability to manage challenging conversations and competing priorities
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work quickly while maintaining quality
• Confidence using technology and learning new systems and processes
• A customer-focused approach and the ability to balance customer needs with sound claims decisions
