Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced WHS professional to join our high performing team within the Operations business unit reporting to the Senior WHS Business Partner.

The WHS Business Partner a 12-month fixed term contract and is responsible for partnering with business in the development and implementation of solutions processes and programs that enhance worker health wellbeing and safety and ensure we deliver safety differently.

The role partners with leaders and employees in their portfolio and provides coaching and support to ensure our safe systems of work manage our critical risks effectively align to work as done and ensure consistent and high-quality safety outcomes.

The WHS Business Partner leads or contributes to cross functional projects that deliver benefits across the FPH Group. The role also provides a support function to the early intervention program and return to work function for injury case management.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide timely professional and strategic guidance to all stakeholders on Health Safety and Wellbeing matters with a systems safety approach and fair and just culture mindset;

• Lead by example supporting and promoting OneFPHs Safety and Wellbeing vision of Safety and Health above all else;

• Provide coaching education and training to leaders and employees to ensure effective implementation of FPH WHS Management System and compliance obligations;

• Support leaders and employees with their understanding of and adherence to health safety wellbeing and return to work policies and procedures and conduct assurance activities;

• Partner with and educate leaders and employees in undertaking incident investigations and workplace audits and assist in the development and actioning of corrective and preventative actions encouraging a culture of accountability;

• Provide specialist technical direction advice support and assistance on WHS and RTW matters in both a corporate governance and operational setting;

• Ensure learnings from events and hazards are identified and communicated;

• Identify develop and deliver initiatives to support the delivery of the FPH Health Safety and Wellbeing strategy;

• Assist and support the Senior WHS Business Partner and the Recovery & Return to Work Coordinator in implementation of the recovery and return to work framework including early intervention and management of injury cases as required;

About Your Ways of Working

• Highly developed interpersonal skills that encourages collaboration trust and openness;

• Highly developed oral and written communication including stakeholder engagement and report writing skills;

• Demonstrated experience influencing and leading projects or change initiatives;

• Able to work autonomously with minimal supervision.

Skills and Experience

• Minimum Cert IV qualifications in Workplace Health & Safety;

• Demonstrated experience working in a high-risk environment preferably heavy industry transport logistics warehousing or maritime operations;

• Working knowledge of WHS and Return to Work legislation;

• Demonstrated experience in the interpretation of ISO and AS standards;

• Return to Work Coordinator (SA);

• ICAM Lead Investigator Training;

• Current Drivers Licence and access to own vehicle.
