Job description
An established Global gold producer is seeking an experienced Senior Open Pit Production Engineer to join its Technical Services team. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in the safe and efficient delivery of mining operations while working alongside a highly experienced leadership team.
You will be responsible for leading short-term production engineering activities, optimising mine performance, and providing technical support to ensure production targets are achieved safely and efficiently.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering.
- Approximately 8+ years' experience in open-pit mining, with significant exposure to production engineering.
- Strong experience in drill and blast design, mine design and short-term scheduling.
- Proficiency using Deswik and other mine planning software.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A proactive approach to safety, leadership and continuous improvement.
- Previous experience in hard rock gold operations will be highly regarded.

Position Duties:
- Develop and deliver short-term mine plans and production schedules.
- Prepare and review drill and blast designs.
- Monitor mining performance and identify opportunities to improve productivity and reduce costs.
- Provide technical guidance to Mining Supervisors and Operations personnel.
- Ensure designs comply with geotechnical, safety and operational requirements.
- Mentor and support Production Engineers and graduate engineers.
- Collaborate closely with Mine Planning, Geology and Operations teams to optimise mining performance.
