Early Childhood Teacher

Edge Early Learning is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Early Childhood Teacher to join our centre as our Lead ECT in our kindergarten room for 4-year-olds.

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate early years professional to take on a leadership role within a supportive, collaborative team. You'll be responsible for delivering high-quality education and care while mentoring our second Early Childhood Teacher.

Our special Teachers Leave arrangement allows you to work full-time (40 hours per week) and accrue additional hours toward your paid Teachers Leave – a valuable benefit designed to support work-life balance.

We're seeking an Early Childhood Teacher who brings:

Minimum 2 years' experience in early years teaching
Mentoring capability – ready to guide and support our second ECT

Essential Requirements:

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education (or ACECQA-approved equivalent)
  OR Graduate Diploma / Masters of Teaching with a minimum 2–3 years’ Educator/Lead experience in a long day care setting within Australia
• Minimum 2 years' early childhood teaching experience

Certificates & Checks

• Working with Vulnerable People (ACT), mandatory
• National Child Safety Training (GECCKO), mandatory
• RRHAN Fundamentals & Masterclass (SA), mandatory
• Training to respond to child abuse and neglect (ACT)
• First Aid & CPR Certificate/s
• Asthma Management Certificate
• Anaphylaxis Certificate

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver engaging, play-based learning programs aligned with the EYLF
• Mentor and guide our second Early Childhood Teacher
• Build strong, positive relationships with children, families, and the community
• Lead a team of educators to achieve excellence in practice
• Promote a safe, inclusive, and culturally responsive learning environment
• Regularly assess and document children's development to inform learning strategies
