Job description

The Role
We invite expressions of interest from ICU Registrars seeking broad critical care experience within a coastal QLD Hospital.

This role offers the opportunity to develop your intensive care skills while managing a diverse mix of critically ill adult patients. Working alongside experienced Intensive Care Specialists and multidisciplinary teams, you will participate in the assessment, stabilisation and ongoing management of complex medical and surgical patients, with exposure to emergency presentations, perioperative critical care and interhospital retrieval interfaces where applicable.

You will be supported through regular consultant supervision, collaborative ward rounds and a department committed to registrar development.

This regional referral hospital provides comprehensive healthcare services to a large and growing coastal population and plays an important role within the wider health service.

  • Expanding critical care capability, including a new 10-bed Intensive Care Unit currently being delivered as part of a major hospital redevelopment.

Training & Development
Training is central to this registrar opportunity, providing a supportive environment for doctors pursuing a career in Intensive Care Medicine.

  • Access to simulation-based education through the hospital's Simulation Centre.
  • The department hosts the CICM-approved BASIC Critical Care Course, supporting foundational intensive care education for junior doctors.

Requirements

  • Eligible for registration with AHPRA.
