Position Overview

As Managing Director for Australia, you will be responsible for leading the business operations, strategy execution, and commercial development across the region. This is a hands-on leadership role with a strong focus on profitable growth, team development, and market penetration in the HoReCa industry. You will act as the face of the company in Australia, ensuring alignment with global standards while adapting to local market dynamics.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

• Define and implement the Australian business strategy in line with global objectives.
\n
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, and market segments.
\n
• Develop and execute the go-to-market plan for both direct sales and channel distribution.
\n

Commercial Management

\n

\n
• Drive revenue growth through new customer acquisition and expansion of key accounts.
\n
• Oversee national sales, marketing, and service operations.
\n
• Ensure strong relationships with hotels, restaurant chains, and commercial kitchen contractors.
\n

\n

Operational Oversight

\n

\n
• Ensure the efficient operation of warehousing, logistics, and after-sales service.
\n
• Establish KPIs and drive operational excellence across departments.
\n
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance reporting.
\n
• Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing local team across sales, service, and support.
\n
• Foster a results-oriented, collaborative, and customer-centric culture.
\n
• Ensure alignment with company values and standards of excellence.
\n

Compliance & Risk

\n

\n
• Ensure full compliance with Australian laws, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
\n
• Manage commercial risk, contractual agreements, and supply chain integrity.
\n

Qualifications and Experience

\n

\n
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or related field (MBA preferred).
\n
• 10+ years of experience in leadership roles, preferably in industrial equipment or capital goods.
\n
• Proven track record in scaling businesses and managing P&L in Australia.
\n
• Deep understanding of the HoReCa industry and its procurement processes.
\n
• Experience managing B2B sales teams and distributor networks.
\n
• Strategic thinker with strong execution capability.
\n
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
\n
• Customer-centric mindset with strong negotiation and relationship-building abilities.
\n
• Entrepreneurial spirit and hands-on management style.
\n
• Familiarity with the challenges of managing a medium-sized subsidiary within a global organization.
