As our Practice Director - Cloud Platform & Managed Services, you'll drive growth, be sales and partner focused, and be able to operate at pace and within a dynamic environment. We'll count on you to lead and expand our thriving Cloud Infrastructure and Managed Services business. This is a critical leadership role responsible for driving sales, presales, and delivery across our Australian, New Zealand and Singaporean client base, encompassing commercial, state and federal government clients.

Leadership: The leadership for this role is our Vice President - Services APAC, Phil Rickson. Phil is based in Sydney and leads all Insight's Services functions across APAC.

As our Practice Director - Cloud Platform & Managed Services, you'll be responsible for:

\n

Strategic Leadership & Growth:

\n

\n
• Develop and execute strategies to drive significant revenue and profit growth across all business units.
\n
• Identify new market opportunities and expand our service offerings to meet evolving client needs.
\n
• Lead the development and implementation of our go-to-market strategies for Cloud Infrastructure, Networking, Security, Modern Workplace, Software Asset Management, and Managed Services.
\n
• Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and client-centricity within the team.
\n
• Drive sales efforts, working closely with the sales team to identify, qualify, and close new business opportunities.
\n
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, understanding their strategic objectives and aligning our services accordingly.
\n
• Grow an expert pre-sales team which includes solution design, proposal development, and client presentations.
\n
• Represent the company at industry events and conferences, enhancing our market presence and reputation.
\n

Delivery & Operational Excellence:

• Oversee the successful delivery of complex infrastructure projects, ensuring client satisfaction, project profitability, and adherence to timelines.
\n
• Optimise delivery methodologies and processes to enhance efficiency and quality.
\n
• Manage resource allocation, ensuring the right talent is deployed to the right projects.
\n
• Implement robust governance frameworks for all engagements, mitigating risks and ensuring compliance.
\n
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of consultants and leaders, fostering their technical and professional growth.
\n
• Drive recruitment efforts to attract top talent and scale the team in line with business growth.
\n
• Conduct performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and establish clear career paths for team members.
\n
• Promote a collaborative and supportive team environment.

Business Unit Management:

\n

\n
• Microsoft Cloud Infrastructure Services: Provide strategic direction for our core services including Platform Engineering, DevOps, Cloud Migrations, Identity, and Cloud Security. Stay abreast of the latest Microsoft technologies and trends.
\n
• Microsoft Modern Workplace Practice: Oversee the growth and development of our Modern Workplace offerings.
\n
• Cloud Optimization & Governance (O&G): Drive the expansion of our O&G practice, including Software Asset Management, Cloud FinOps and Cloud Governance Solutions.
\n
• APAC Managed Services: Manage and grow our Infrastructure Managed Services business.
\n

Requirements

\n

\n
• Minimum of 10+ years of experience in IT consulting, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership or director-level role
\n
• Proven experience in managing and growing a professional services team
\n
• Deep understanding and hands-on experience with Microsoft technologies, particularly in cloud infrastructure (Azure), identity, security, and modern workplace solutions.
\n
• Demonstrable track record of achieving practice sales targets, driving revenue growth, and improving profitability.
\n
• Proven experience leading and growing offshore teams, preferably with experience working with teams in India and the Philippines.
\n
• Exceptional client relationship management and negotiation skills.
\n
• Solid understanding of service delivery methodologies and best practices.
\n
• Experience with financial management, budgeting, and forecasting for a business unit.
\n
