A reputable private hospital on the Gold Coast is seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist - Scrub/Scout (Ophthalmic) with 4+ years' experience in theatre and strong competency in VR (vitreoretinal) eye surgery. • Specialist ophthalmic caseload including cataracts, intraocular and VR eye procedures within a high‐quality private theatre setting.
\n
• Work‐life balance guaranteed — Monday to Friday only, with no nights, weekends, or on‐call expectations.

Key Responsibilities

\n

\n
• Deliver high‐level perioperative support as a Scrub/Scout RN within ophthalmic surgery, including VR procedures.
\n
• Prepare and manage instruments, equipment and consumables while maintaining strict sterile technique.
\n
• Anticipate surgeon needs, ensure theatre efficiency and uphold safe surgical workflows.
\n
• Work collaboratively with surgeons, anaesthetists and the broader perioperative team to deliver exceptional outcomes.
\n
• Maintain high clinical standards through accurate documentation and commitment to continuous improvement.
\n

What We're Looking For

\n

\n
• Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration.
\n
• Minimum 4 years' experience in Scrub/Scout, ideally within ophthalmic or VR surgery.
\n
• Strong knowledge of sterile technique, ophthalmic instrumentation and fast‐paced theatre flow.
\n
• Excellent communication, teamwork and a strong commitment to patient‐centred care.
\n
