About Centrecare \n

Centrecare is a not-for-profit organisation with over 300 employees and is committed to delivering quality professional counselling, support, accommodation, mediation and training services in over 11 locations across the Perth metropolitan, Goldfields and South West regions.

The Service \n

The Reintegration and Parenting program supports individuals up to six months prior and twelve months post release from prison. Reintegration provides transport, temporary accommodation, parenting and family support. The program is voluntary and focussed primarily on reentry planning.

About The Role \n

The Case Worker role will work with the local prison community both prior and post release to,

\n

\n
• Visit your clients whilst they are incarcerated.
\n
• Facilitate and run group sessions in a prison environment.
\n
• Support client home visits in the local Kalgoorlie area.
\n
• Take the clients, on release, back to their home community, which could be up to 1500km away.
\n

A Few Specifics \n

\n
• Provide a high-quality reentry service for clients exiting prisons.
\n
• Ensure the objectives and outcomes of Re-Entry funded programs are achieved.
\n
• Provide support to the Program Manager and Team Leader to plan, implement, evaluate and co-ordinate Re-entry services, including group education and information sessions.
\n
• Provide quality outreach services to clients and their families across the Goldfields region. This might include organisations of and participation community events and specific targeted group work in the community.
\n
• Participate in case management of clients with internal and external agencies.
\n
• Provide referral service to clients.
\n
• Level 5 Case Worker will be expected to leverage their minimum 3 years of previous experience in a senior role to support staff members and assist the team leader in guiding the team effectively.

Selection Criteria \n

\n
• Bachelor's or higher in Community Services, Psychology, Social Work, Social Sciences, Aboriginal Studies or related disciplines.
\n
• Minimum 3 years' experience in engaging and working with Aboriginal individuals, families and their communities, especially in remote locations of Western Australia.
\n
• Comprehensive casework and assessment experience, maintaining accurate and confidential case notes.
\n
• Experience in working with offenders, supporting access to services and facilitating the engagement with external agencies.
\n
• National Police Certificate (within 12 months validity).
\n
• Working With Children Check or eligibility to apply for one.
\n
• WA Driver's licence and own vehicle for outreach purposes.
\n
