Category Growth Manager (Books), Amazon AU Retail

As a Category Growth Manager you will be a passionate customer and category advocate within Amazon; possess strong negotiation and analytical skills together with proven commercial knowledge and experience. The ability to effectively prioritize and multi-task is a must together with excellent project management skills and laser sharp attention to detail. The Category Growth Manager must also be an effective communicator working with some of Amazon Australias most important partners and vendors as well as with internal colleagues and cross-functional leaders. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a passion for retail and a high level of flexibility and commitment.

This position requires full-time in-office presence 5 days per week at our CBD location.

A day in the life
As a Category Growth Manager for our Books category youll spend your day balancing strategic thinking with hands-on problem-solving. You might start by analyzing sales data to identify growth opportunities then move into negotiations with publishing partners to secure exclusive titles or favorable terms. Youll collaborate with our marketing or operations teams to develop category initiatives troubleshoot challenges as they arise and present recommendations to senior leadership. Your work spans financial planning vendor relationship management and creative problem-solvingall while staying connected to what our customers want to read.

- 4 years of retail operations product or program management or business management/consulting with negotiations and delivering results experience
- Bachelors degree or 3 years of professional or military experience
- Experience with financial analysis and P&L ownership

- Experience managing large data sets and utilizing to drive performance and process improvements
- Experience in vendor negotiations pricing and promotion inventory management and product development
- 3 years of with Excel experience
