Job description

An experienced Customs Broker is sought to join a well-established Brisbane freight forwarding operation as part of a close-knit Customs team. This is a rare opportunity to step into a respected position, taking over from a long-serving broker who is retiring after decades with the business.

Working alongside another licensed broker and supported by an experienced operations team, you'll take ownership of a genuine Customs Broker role focused on providing advice, ensuring compliance and managing customs clearances - not simply processing entries.

With approximately 100 entries per week across a diverse range of commodities, you'll enjoy exposure to imports from China, Europe and the USA while working in a business that values quality over volume.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and lodge import declarations
  • Process Tariff Advice (TA) and Tariff Concession (TC) applications
  • Provide customs advice to internal stakeholders and clients
  • Ensure compliance with Australian Border Force regulations
  • Assist in mentoring and sharing knowledge within the Customs team
  • Work collaboratively with Operations to ensure efficient cargo clearance

About You

You'll also bring:

  • Current Australian Customs Broker License
  • Strong knowledge of tariff classifications and Australian Customs legislation
  • Confidence in providing advice to clients and internal stakeholders on customs compliance and import requirements
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

The Company

This established Australian freight forwarder has built a strong reputation through long-standing client relationships and a stable, supportive culture. Unlike many high-volume multinational environments, you'll have the time to focus on doing the job properly while enjoying excellent work-life balance and genuine career security.

If you're looking for a role where your expertise will be valued and you can make a lasting impact, we'd love to hear from you.
