About the role

\n

We are looking for an experienced Platform Engineer with a strong background in hybrid environments to join our Digital Services team. This role is responsible for the design, deployment, management, and support of critical infrastructure systems—including servers, virtualization platforms, networking, storage, and compute resources hosted within our on-site data centres or co-located facilities and cloud platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Deploy, and manage hybrid infrastructure aligned with Subco's network technology platforms, ensuring scalability, resilience, and compliance using IaC and orchestration tools.
\n
• Implement security hardening, patching, and lifecycle management of virtualised workloads.
\n
• Administer identity and access management systems for hybrid environments.
\n
• Support automation of provisioning, configuration, and patching using infrastructure-as-code and orchestration tools.
\n
• Support the design and deployment of cloud infrastructure using IaC.
\n
• Build and deployment platforms & tooling to support the development lifecycle.
\n
• Support the build of secure AWS platforms for AI and agentic workflows.
\n

Reliability & Operations Support

\n

\n
• Implement monitoring of system health, alerting, and observability across hybrid environments to ensure high availability of critical digital infrastructure.
\n
• Troubleshoot and resolve incidents impacting Subco's operational systems, collaborating closely with the NOC and network engineering teams, including participation in on-call rotation.
\n
• Ensure backup and disaster recovery processes are in place and tested.
\n

Security & Compliance

\n

\n
• Ensure security standards and access controls are aligned to security frameworks such as Essential 8 and ISM.
\n
• Support audits, disaster recovery testing, and cyber-resilience initiatives critical for a trusted subsea operator.
\n
• Work closely with security teams to ensure compliance with internal and external regulations.
\n
• Lead or contribute to infrastructure projects and communicate technical concepts to stakeholders.
\n
• Partner with network engineers, software developers, and operations teams to deliver infrastructure that supports automation, orchestration, and AI/analytics initiatives.
\n
• Maintain detailed documentation of systems, configurations, and procedures.
\n

About You

\n

\n
• Proficient in virtualisation (VMware, Nutanix or similar), container platforms, and orchestration technologies.
\n
• Skilled in designing, deploying, and managing AWS cloud infrastructure, hybrid environments, and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK).
\n
• Strong Linux/Windows command-line, automation, and configuration management (Ansible, Puppet, PowerShell); experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins).
\n
• Experience with modern identity management tools (EntraID, Active Directory)
\n
• Exposure to ZTNA technologies (Cloudflare WARP, Zscaler)
\n
• Strong experience with hybrid cloud connectivity (Direct Connect, Express Route, Megaport)
\n
• Familiarity with storage technologies (NetApp, Dell EMC, Synology).
\n
• Experienced in monitoring and observability (Grafana, New Relic or similar)
\n
• Strong understanding of IT security best practices, compliance, and operating in secure or regulated environments (finance, defence, healthcare).
\n
• Skilled in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and leading/contributing to infrastructure projects.
\n
• Comfortable with ambiguity
\n
• Strong communication & collaboration skills for both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Industry certifications highly regarded.
\n
