The Department Provides Comprehensive Paediatric Services Including

• General inpatient paediatric care
\n
• Specialist outpatient clinics
\n
• Emergency paediatric services
\n
• Regional outreach clinics
\n
• Neonatal services
\n
• Diabetes and chronic disease management
\n
• Developmental and community paediatric services
\n

A key feature of the service is the Level 4 Special Care Nursery, providing advanced neonatal care and respiratory support for newborns.

Key Responsibilities You Will

\n

\n
• Deliver high-quality paediatric care across inpatient, outpatient and emergency settings
\n
• Manage complex neonatal and paediatric presentations
\n
• Provide specialist support to regional and rural facilities throughout Central Queensland
\n
• Participate in outreach clinics and telehealth services
\n
• Supervise and mentor registrars, junior doctors and medical students
\n
• Lead quality improvement and clinical governance initiatives
\n
• Participate in the consultant on-call roster
\n
• Contribute to service development and innovation across the region
\n

Requirements To Be Considered, Applicants Must Possess

\n

\n
• Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in Paediatrics and Child Health, or equivalent specialist qualification
\n
• Specialist Registration with AHPRA, or eligibility for registration
\n
• Broad experience across General Paediatrics and Neonatal Care
\n
• Commitment to high-quality regional healthcare delivery
\n
• Strong interest in teaching, mentoring and clinical leadership
\n
