Job Description

Bonmoamapharm Pty Ltd & Moama RX Pty Limited Moama Village Pharmacy is seeking a qualified and customer-focused Pharmacist to provide professional pharmacy services and high-quality patient care within a community pharmacy setting. The role involves dispensing prescriptions, providing medication counselling, administering pharmacy services, ensuring compliance with pharmacy regulations, and supporting customers with their healthcare needs.

Task & responsibilities

• Dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently in compliance with Australian legislation and professional pharmacy standards.
• Assess prescriptions to ensure clinical suitability, including evaluating dosages, potential drug interactions, contraindications, and therapeutic appropriateness.
• Provide patients with expert advice and counselling on the safe, effective, and appropriate use of medications.
• Recommend suitable over-the-counter medicines and healthcare products based on individual customer needs.
• Deliver accredited pharmacy services, including vaccinations, MedsChecks, and other clinical healthcare programs where qualified.
• Manage Schedule 8 and other controlled substances in accordance with legislative and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain accurate dispensing records, patient profiles, and medication histories to support continuity of care.
• Collaborate with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to achieve optimal patient health outcomes.
• Supervise, train, and mentor pharmacy assistants, interns, and support staff to ensure high standards of practice and customer service.
• Assist in inventory control activities, including stock ordering, stock rotation, replenishment, and monitoring of expiry dates.
• Ensure adherence to all relevant regulatory and professional requirements, including AHPRA, Pharmacy Board of Australia standards, PBS guidelines, WHS obligations, privacy legislation, and internal pharmacy policies.
• Deliver exceptional customer service while supporting the smooth and efficient day-to-day operation of the pharmacy.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor of Pharmacy or Master of Pharmacy (or an equivalent qualification recognised in Australia).
• Current general registration as a Pharmacist with the Pharmacy Board of Australia (AHPRA).
• Sound knowledge of Australian pharmacy practice, professional standards, and relevant legislation.
• Strong clinical knowledge and commitment to evidence-based patient care.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and professional judgement.
• Strong organisational, problem-solving, and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Previous experience in community pharmacy is highly desirable.
• Experience delivering professional pharmacy services and supporting the efficient operation of a community pharmacy.
• Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, ethics, and continuing professional development.
