Job Description

Oaks Gold Coast Calypso Plaza Suites are looking for a part-time Night Caretaker who is passionate about providing exceptional guest service and maintaining a safe, secure and welcoming environment throughout the night.

As the Night Caretaker, you will be the primary point of contact for guests during overnight hours. Combining customer service, front office support and property monitoring responsibilities, you will ensure guests enjoy a comfortable stay while maintaining the presentation, security and smooth operation of the property. Your positive attitude, reliability and attention to detail will help create memorable guest experiences at any hour.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Provide a warm and professional welcome to guests, managing late arrivals, departures and guest enquiries throughout the overnight period.
• Maintain clear and courteous communication with guests, colleagues and stakeholders, providing prompt assistance and resolving issues efficiently.
• Accurately process reservations, check-ins, check-outs and guest account transactions while ensuring strict confidentiality of guest information.
• Monitor the property throughout the night, maintaining security, cleanliness and presentation standards across designated areas.
• Carrying out general housekeeping and cleaning tasks in common areas.
• Respond proactively to guest requests, concerns and emergencies, ensuring a safe and positive guest experience at all times.
• Complete nightly operational tasks, reporting requirements and administrative duties accurately and within required timeframes.
• Reporting any maintenance, safety, or operational issues identified during the shift.

Shift Details (subject to change):

• Rotating roster across Monday to Sunday
• Overnight shifts scheduled within 10:00pm to 7:00am
• Immediate start available

Hourly Rates (excluding superannuation):

Monday - Friday: $27.97 per hour + penalties
Saturday: $34.96 per hour + penalties
Sunday: $41.96 per hour + penalties

Qualifications

Successful candidates will have:

• Demonstrated background in hotel operations, hospitality, customer service or a similar guest-facing environment.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to remain professional and composed when handling guest enquiries and concerns.
• Strong computer literacy and the ability to learn and utilise property management and reservation systems effectively.
• A proactive and service-focused approach, with a commitment to delivering outstanding guest experiences and resolving issues efficiently.
• High attention to detail and the ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities during overnight operations.
• Maintains a polished and professional presentation and is fully committed to working overnight, weekend and public holiday shifts as required
