We're representing a confidential client delivering a landmark energy infrastructure program and are seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to join a high-performing commercial leadership team.

This is an opportunity to work at the intersection of commercial strategy, contract management, stakeholder engagement and complex infrastructure delivery, helping solve challenges that require innovative thinking rather than standard solutions.

About the Opportunity

Working alongside senior executives and project leaders, you'll contribute to the commercial direction of a major capital program, balancing commercial risk, delivery certainty and long-term value creation.

The role will see you working across complex contractual relationships, multiple stakeholders and evolving commercial challenges where your judgement and strategic thinking will have a genuine impact on project outcomes.

While strong contract management remains fundamental, success will come from your ability to think beyond the contract—developing commercial solutions that support collaboration, innovation and better project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement commercial strategies that support the successful delivery of a nationally significant energy infrastructure project.

• Provide strategic commercial advice to senior project leadership and executive stakeholders.

• Lead complex commercial negotiations across contractors, consultants and key delivery partners.

• Develop commercial frameworks that encourage collaboration while appropriately managing commercial risk.

• Identify innovative approaches to commercial challenges where traditional models may not deliver the best outcome.

• Manage high-value contracts throughout the project lifecycle, including variations, claims and dispute avoidance.

• Provide commercial oversight of project performance, forecasting and financial risk.

• Build strong relationships across government agencies, contractors, investors and delivery partners.

• Support governance, commercial reporting and executive decision-making through robust commercial analysis.

• Champion best practice commercial management across a multidisciplinary project environment.

About You

We're interested in speaking with professionals who enjoy solving complex commercial problems and influencing strategic decisions on major infrastructure projects.

You'll likely bring experience in one or more of the following:

• Major energy or infrastructure projects.

• Public Private Partnerships (PPP) or other complex delivery models.

• Commercial advisory or transaction advisory.

• Tier One contractors or major utilities.

• Government infrastructure agencies or project delivery authorities.

• Major consulting or advisory organisations.

You'll be recognised for your commercial judgement, stakeholder management skills and ability to navigate complexity with confidence.
