State Director of Cost Management - NSW

This is an opportunity to establish and lead the Sydney Quantity Surveying function of a nationally recognised advisory business while remaining actively involved in delivering major property projects and shaping the future direction of the organisation.

As NSW Director, you'll join the National Executive Team, lead the growth of the Sydney Quantity Surveying capability and play a key role in expanding the business across the NSW property market. Supported by an established Project Management division and a growing national platform, you'll have the autonomy to build your own team while leveraging existing client relationships, joint tenders and cross-disciplinary opportunities.

What you'll be doing

You'll lead the Sydney Quantity Surveying function, combining project leadership, business development and team growth to establish a market-leading presence across the NSW property sector.

Working closely with clients, you'll oversee major property projects from early feasibility through to completion, providing strategic commercial advice while strengthening existing relationships and creating new opportunities for the business.

A key part of the role will be growing the Sydney team. You'll recruit, mentor and develop Quantity Surveyors while fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture that reflects the broader values of the business.

You'll also work closely with the established Project Management division and National Executive Team, leveraging joint client relationships, contributing to strategic planning and helping drive the continued growth of the organisation across Australia.

What you'll need

• Demonstrated leadership experience within the Sydney Quantity Surveying market

• A proven ability to win work, develop long-term client relationships and grow a business

• Extensive experience leading major property projects from feasibility through to completion

• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to influence clients and executive stakeholders

• Experience leading, mentoring and developing high-performing teams

• AIQS, RICS or equivalent professional accreditation
