Payroll Officer

Job Description

Randstad is currently seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join a well-established organisation operating in the construction sector. This is an ongoing full-time temporary assignment, based full-time (5 days per week) on-site at the client's Nerang location, paying $51.13 per hour plus super. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering accurate, efficient end-to-end payroll services for approximately 150 employees on a weekly basis.

Key Responsibilities

• Process weekly payroll for approximately 150 employees across multiple awards and agreements.
\n
• Ensure accurate interpretation and application of relevant awards and enterprise agreements.
\n
• Liaise closely with the wider finance team and internal stakeholders to support seamless payroll operations.
\n
• Act as the key point of escalation for complex payroll issues.
\n
• Administer ad hoc payments and ensure timely statutory reporting, reconciliations, and compliance.

Key Skills and Experience

\n

\n
• Proven experience in high-volume payroll environments, ideally with exposure to shift work, overtime, and multiple industrial instruments.
\n
• Strong understanding of award interpretation. Experience with relevant construction-related awards (e.g. Building and Construction or BEMS) is highly desirable.
\n
• Proficiency in using various payroll systems; experience with SAP is advantageous.
\n

Excellent attention to detail, with a proactive and solutions-focused approach.

\n

• Comfortable managing challenging conversations and resolving payroll queries promptly and professionally.
\n
• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
\n
• Confident working both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
\n
