About the Role

As a Consulting Director – Energy, Utilities & Mining, help shape, sell and deliver complex technology-enabled transformation initiatives across Energy, Utilities and Mining clients throughout ANZ. . You will be a valued member of Cognizant's Energy, Utilities and Mining consulting practice, partnering closely with CIOs, CTOs, business executives, technology architects, engineering teams, and delivery stakeholders to advise, shape and deliver technology change and large-scale transformation..

This role sits at the intersection of consulting leadership, technology strategy, enterprise architecture and business development. It offers the opportunity to drive Cognizant's technology-led consulting agenda across ANZ, helping clients modernise core platforms, accelerate digital transformation and unlock value through cloud, data, AI and emerging technologies. The role combines consulting leadership, technical credibility, commercial accountability and executive stakeholder engagement, operating as a trusted advisor to senior client technology leaders.

In This Role, You Will:

• Lead the pursuit, shaping, and delivery of large-scale technology transformation across Energy & Utilities and Mining clients, driving business growth, technology modernisation and strategic client partnerships.
• Define technology-led transformation strategies, enterprise architectures, and solution approaches spanning core business platforms, integration ecosystems, cloud, data, and AI capabilities.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to CIO, CTO, and business executives, helping clients develop technology roadmaps, modernisation strategies, and investment priorities.
• Provide executive oversight across complex transformation , ensuring architecture integrity, engineering quality, delivery excellence, and commercial success.
• Translate industry trends such as energy transition, distributed energy resources, grid modernisation, AI adoption, mining digitisation and digital customer experience into differentiated consulting solutions, offerings and thought leadership.
• Build and develop high-performing consulting, architecture, and technology teams while consistently demonstrating the Cognizant Way to Lead through personal, organisational, and business leadership.
• Own growth, pipeline conversion, revenue, margin and delivery quality across technology-led consulting engagements, ensuring solutions are commercially viable, deliverable at scale and aligned to client outcomes.

Work Model

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 3 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Melbourne, Victoria. What You Must Have to Be Considered

• 12+ years of consulting, technology advisory, enterprise transformation, or professional services experience, including significant Energy & Utilities industry expertise.
• Demonstrated success in winning, shaping, and delivering large-scale technology transformation for utility, energy, or infrastructure organisations.
• Deep experience in enterprise architecture, solution architecture, or large-scale systems integration across complex enterprise environments.
• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms, enterprise applications, integration architectures, data platforms, AI-enabled solutions, and modern engineering practices.
• Proven ability to engage and influence C-suite stakeholders while leading multidisciplinary consulting and technology teams.
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to structure deals with a win-win outcome ensuring success for our clients and Cognizant

These Will Help You Succeed

• Experience with Energy, Utilities and Mining technology ecosystems including ADMS, DERMS, SCADA, CRM, billing, asset management, and field service platforms.
• Expertise in cloud-native architecture, API-first integration, event-driven architectures, and enterprise data platforms.
• Strong understanding of energy transition, regulatory frameworks, grid modernisation, and digital utility operating models.
• Experience developing consulting offerings, thought leadership, accelerators, or reusable intellectual property.
• Advanced degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
