Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated Accountant to join our finance team. This hands-on role supports the day-to-day operation of the finance function through accurate financial reporting, reconciliations, statutory compliance and continuous improvement initiatives.

\n

Key Responsibilities

\n

Financial Accounting

\n

\n
• Prepare month-end journals, accruals and prepayments.
\n
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations.
\n
• Maintain the General Ledger.
\n
• Assist with monthly management reporting.
\n
• Assist with annual statutory financial statements.
\n
• Maintain fixed asset registers.
\n
• Complete intercompany reconciliations.
\n

Finance Operations

\n

\n
• Assist with BAS, payroll tax and FBT preparation.
\n
• Support inventory reconciliations and stocktake activities.
\n
• Assist with cash flow reporting.
\n
• Work closely with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Payroll.
\n
• Maintain finance records and supporting documentation.
\n

Audit & Compliance

\n

\n
• Prepare audit workpapers and supporting schedules.
\n
• Assist with external audits.
\n
• Ensure financial records are accurate and complete.
\n
• Support compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
\n

\n

Continuous Improvement

\n

\n
• Develop an understanding of finance processes across the business.
\n
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reporting.
\n
• Assist with documenting finance procedures.
\n
• Support ERP system improvements.
\n
• Participate in finance improvement initiatives.
\n

Business Support

\n

\n
• Assist with financial analysis and reporting.
\n
• Respond to internal finance queries.
\n
• Support ad hoc finance projects.
\n

Skills & Experience

\n

Essential

\n

\n
• Tertiary qualification in Accounting.
\n
• Previous experience in an accounting or finance role.
\n
• Sound understanding of accounting principles.
\n
• Experience preparing journals and balance sheet reconciliations.
\n
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
\n
• Experience using ERP systems.
\n
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
\n
• Excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude.
\n

Desirable

\n

\n
• Exposure to month-end reporting.
\n
• Experience in manufacturing, FMCG or distribution.
\n
• Exposure to inventory accounting.
\n
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or a similar ERP.
\n
• Working towards, or interested in commencing, CA or CPA studies.
\n
• Exposure to Power BI or reporting tools.
\n
