JOB TITLE: Biocultural Landscapes Division Support Officer
\n LOCATION: Warrnambool, Victoria
\n TERM: 1.0 FTE, Fixed-term to 30 June 2027
\n SALARY: $71,100to $86,800 perannum, plus super (Salary to be negotiated in line with qualifications and experience)
\n REPORTS TO: General Manager Biocultural Landscapes

\n

Who we are looking for

\n

The Biocultural Landscapes Division Support Officer is responsible for maintaining, developing, and growing external relationships principally with the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA) and other agencies across the full extent of the traditional lands of Eastern Maar.

\n

Reporting to the GM Biocultural Landscapes, the position will be responsible for reporting to DEECA and other agencies on grant programs, and providing administrative support to the General Manager and Biocultural Landscapes Division of EMAC.

\n

On a day-to-day basis you will:

\n

Consultation, coordination & planning:

\n

\n
• Be EMAC's point of contact for agency staff seeking engagement and connect them with relevant personnel.
\n
• Provision of administrative support to Biocultural Landscapes Division of EMAC.
\n
• Provide professional and reliable representation of EMAC to agencies.
\n
• Assisting in the planning and co-ordination of engagement and consultation between agencies and EMAC to ensure it meets the objectives of both Parties, including logistics, minute taking, agendas and any associated paperwork and presentations.
\n
• Assist in developing and implementing strategies and processes to enhance relations between EMAC and agencies.
\n
• Support EMAC's participation in State-wide and Regional Caring for Country partnership Forums
\n
• Assist with the development and implementation of Eastern Maar's Country Plan and Biocultural Landscapes Strategy.
\n

\n

Project management & reporting:

\n

\n
• Ensure that EMAC meets all agency funding agreements reporting obligations, as well as explore and support the development of new funding opportunities with relevant EMAC personnel.
\n
• Maintain funding agreement compliance register and related reporting requirements of EMAC personnel, as well as develop and maintain a funding agreement milestone log of all agency agreements.
\n
• Research agencies key strategies, goals, and objectives who EMAC work with to identify and map commonalities of EMAC's assertions and goals, including key individuals and possible resources, for mutually benefiting outcomes.
\n

General duties include:

• Provide regular updates on opportunities, challenges and issues
\n
• Perform other duties as may be directed or implied from time to time.
\n
• Be aware and adhere to The Privacy Act, OH & S Legislation and other relevant legislations.
\n
• Be aware and adhere to EMAC Policy and Procedure manuals.
\n
• Be aware and participate in staff performance reviews.
\n
• Attend all mandatory training as required.
\n

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated experience of working collaboratively and influencing across multiple stakeholder groups.

• Sound project management skills with ability to take initiative and manage issues.

• Strong problem-solving skills.
\n
• Verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to communicate ideas using a wide range of tools.

• Proficiency in the use of computer and telecommunications technology.

• Strong understanding of the importance of Country to Traditional Owners and recognition of the Eastern Maar as Traditional Owners of the south-west region of Victoria.
\n
• Commitment to and appreciation of Eastern Maar culture, values, perspectives, and heritage, including impacts of colonisation and importance of cultural continuity.
\n
• Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Aboriginal self-determination and supporting aspirations of the Eastern Maar community.
\n
• Demonstrated understanding of the regulatory framework in which EMAC operates.
\n

Other requirements

• Holder of a Working with Children Check.
\n
• Holder of Victorian Driver Licence.
\n
• Undertaken a National Police Check for Employment Purposes within the last 3 months
\n
