\nAbout the Role\n
\nOn behalf of our client, we are recruiting for a Facilities Manager to assume full responsibility for the preservation and continuous operation of their prestigious property. This is a pivotal leadership role where technical expertise meets a passion for impeccable standards. You will be tasked with ensuring that every aspect of the hotel's infrastructure—from the guest rooms and back-of-house areas to the building's iconic façade and advanced systems—operates at peak performance. Your work will be integral to protecting the asset's value and, most importantly, ensuring a safe, comfortable, and uninterrupted experience for guests and staff.\n

\nKey Responsibilities & Duties\n
\nStrategic Asset Management & Planning\n
\n• Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive, proactive preventative maintenance schedule for the entire hotel precinct, encompassing MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) systems, life safety systems, and building fabric.\n
\n• Lead the strategic planning and execution of long-term capital improvement projects, renovations, and refurbishments, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and with minimal disruption to hotel operations.\n
\n• Prepare and meticulously manage the annual facilities operating and capital budgets, conducting detailed cost analysis and implementing cost-control measures without compromising on quality or safety.\n
\n
\nOperational Excellence & Guest Experience\n
\n• Oversee the daily operations of the hotel's physical plant, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other critical building systems, to ensure a consistently perfect environment for guests and staff.\n
\n• Manage a prompt and efficient system for responding to and resolving maintenance requests, prioritizing those that impact the guest experience directly.\n
\n• Conduct regular and detailed inspections of all public areas, guest suites, and back-of-house facilities to identify and address issues related to wear and tear, ensuring the property always reflects a five-star standard of presentation.\n

\nLeadership, Compliance & Safety\n
\n• Lead, mentor, and schedule a skilled team of maintenance technicians and tradespeople, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and exceptional service.\n
\n• Serve as the hotel's primary expert on Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) compliance, ensuring all practices, contractor management, and documentation adhere to the highest standards of statutory and company policy.\n
\n• Build and maintain strong relationships with external vendors, contractors, and service providers, negotiating contracts and ensuring all work performed on-site meets the hotel's rigorous quality and safety requirements.\n

\nCandidate Profile & Requirements\n
\n• Proven experience as a Facilities Manager, Chief Engineer, or in a similar senior technical management role within a luxury hotel, high-end residential complex, or a comparable five-star service environment.\n
\n• A strong qualification in Engineering, Building Management, or a related trade field, combined with comprehensive knowledge of building codes, WHS legislation, and statutory compliance.\n
\n• Demonstrated financial acumen, with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and managing significant operational and capital expenditures.\n
\n• Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with a proven ability to manage, develop, and inspire a technical team and collaborate effectively with other department heads.\n
\n• A strategic thinker with a hands-on approach, capable of prioritising a complex workload in a fast-paced, 24/7 operation.\n
\n• A genuine passion for upholding the highest standards of quality and a commitment to supporting a world-class guest experience from an operational and technical standpoint.\n
