Due to the continued success of our two Chef Hat restaurants, we are now planning for Spring and beyond and looking to expand our culinary team.

This is a unique opportunity for chefs to develop their careers across Bella Venezia Restaurant and Fish House Steak & Grill—two award-winning dining venues located in Mooloolaba on the Sunshine Coast.

About Us

\n

The Bella Venezia Group operates two distinctive Chef Hat restaurants in Mooloolaba.

\n

Bella Venezia Restaurant & Bar has been trading for more than 40 years and is a true Sunshine Coast dining institution. Our award-winning modern Italian restaurant is located in the heart of Mooloolaba and is recognised for its premium produce, refined Italian cuisine and consistently high standards.

\n

Fish House Steak & Grill, located on the Mooloolaba Spit, is an elegant seafood and premium steakhouse offering Japanese-influenced cuisine, fresh seafood, sushi and sashimi, premium steaks and dry‐aged beef.

\n

Both restaurants have been awarded One Chef Hat (13), providing our chefs with the opportunity to gain experience across two respected but distinctly different culinary concepts.

\n

With more than 20 chefs across both venues, we have the team structure, kitchen resources and experienced leadership required to provide genuine career development and opportunities for advancement.

Successful applicants may work across either Bella Venezia or Fish House Steak & Grill, depending on their experience, strengths, development goals and the operational requirements of each venue.

Role & Responsibilities

\n

As a Chef within the Bella Venezia Group, you will:

\n

• Work across Bella Venezia and Fish House Steak & Grill when required
\n
• Take ownership of your designated section in a busy Chef Hat kitchen
\n
• Work alongside a talented culinary team of more than 20 chefs
\n
• Prepare dishes from scratch using premium local and imported ingredients
\n
• Maintain consistently high standards of food preparation and presentation
\n
• Uphold our reputation for culinary excellence
\n
• Demonstrate flexibility across sections, kitchens and culinary styles
\n
• Contribute positively to a professional and supportive team culture
\n

\n

This role offers exposure to modern Italian cuisine, premium seafood, sushi and sashimi, Japanese‐influenced dishes, charcoal grilling, premium steaks and dry‐aged beef.

We're Looking For Chefs Who

\n

\n
• Are professional, reliable and highly motivated
\n
• Have experience in quality restaurants, hotels or Chef Hat‐standard venues
\n
• Have a genuine passion for food and attention to detail
\n
• Take pride in consistency, presentation and kitchen standards
\n
• Work effectively in a fast‐paced team environment
\n
• Are flexible and willing to work across both venues when required
\n
• Are available to work evenings, weekends and peak trading periods
\n
• Are interested in developing their skills and progressing their careers
\n

\n

Experience in Italian cuisine, seafood, premium steak, sushi or Japanese‐influenced cuisine will be highly regarded. However, quality chefs from other culinary backgrounds are also encouraged to apply.

\n

Location & Commencement Requirements

\n

Applicants must either:

\n

\n
• Already reside on the Sunshine Coast and be ready to work in Mooloolaba; or
\n
• Be genuinely willing and able to relocate to the Sunshine Coast and commence employment within two to three weeks
\n

\n
