In this role, you'll manage the day-to-day bookkeeping and compliance requirements for a portfolio of clients, ensuring accurate financial records and providing reliable support to both clients and our client engagement teams.Working predominantly with clients in the health industry, you'll become a trusted contact for clients while leveraging cloud-based accounting technologies and integrated business systems to deliver high-quality outcomes. This role is part of a growing team and offers a clear pathway towards future leadership and management opportunities.Key Duties and Responsibilities:Undertaking daily tasks in cloud accounting system (Xero etc)Sending client expense invoices to relevant platform for electronic processing (Dext, Hubdoc etc)Processing of invoices from expense software to accounting software (i.e. Dext to Xero)Reconciling supplier accounts to end of month statements and preparing schedule for client listing all outstanding bills and due dates, including provision of ABA bank file to facilitate paymentProcessing of unreconciled bank transactions to the general ledgerRaising client sales invoices as instructed by client relationship teamPreparation and processing of fortnightly wages, including maintenance of employee recordsPreparation and processing of employer superannuation obligationsProcessing of payroll data electronically to the ATO under Single Touch Payroll requirementsPreparation of manual journals in XeroReconciliation of balance sheet accounts, including the provision of month-end journals and preparation of workpapers demonstrating reconciliationsUndertaking of any processing with third-party integrated apps (e.g. ApprovalMax)Any other data entry requirements as requested by the client engagement teamPreparation of activity statement obligationsDrafting correspondence to be sent to clients including responding to queries received with minimal review requiredPreparation of management accounts (Xero, Fathom or other)Monitoring client inboxes and correspondenceConfidently review work prepared by junior bookkeepersProvision of guidance and assistance to junior bookkeepersFinancial & Internal requirementsDaily input of time into BDO practice management systemDaily communication with client engagement team on priorities and actionsHighly responsive to emails and communication from client relationship teamAwareness to time, budget and KPI expectationsManagement of client portfolio tasks and deadlines (including annual requirements)Provision of queries to client engagement teamFiling of relevant client information to the relevant internal databaseCommunication Platforms:Office 365 (Emails, Workflow, Requirements/Procedures)Microsoft Teams (Meetings, telephone calls and instant messaging)Why BDO?Working for BDO you will be part of a growing and market leading professional services firm.Our national and global footprint provides our people with opportunities to work on interesting client engagements, across diverse industry sectors and services.Our open and collaborative culture ensures access to Partners and professional mentors, to guide and accelerate your professional career, across a wide array of career pathways.We provide our people with various health and wellbeing, social, financial, and professional development benefits to help realise what’s possible.Participate in fitness challenges or take advantage of exclusive discounts to corporate health insurance, gym memberships and wellness facilities via our BWell program.
