The Opportunity

Were partnering with a well-established NDIS provider to find a hands-on Team Leader for one of their Supported Independent Living (SIL) homes in Sydneys Inner West.

This is a role for someone ready to step up from support work but who still wants to stay close to the people they support. Youll lead a team of Disability Support Workers keep the home running smoothly and make sure every participant gets consistent person-centred care.

Its a stakeholder-heavy role. Youll be working across families Support Coordinators allied health professionals and medical practitioners and youll need to be comfortable reading complex clinical documentation and translating it into practical direction for your team. The Role

Reporting to the SIL Manager youll oversee the day-to-day operational and administrative management of a SIL home while leading and supporting the team on the ground.

Youll coordinate rostering workforce planning participant services compliance and household operations. Youll also provide direct participant support when needed but the core of the role is leadership service quality and making sure the home operates well and meets its obligations.

Key Responsibilities

• Home operations Oversee day-to-day running of the SIL home ensuring high-quality person-centred service delivery reporting to the SIL Manager.
  
• Rostering & resourcing Build and manage staff rosters allocate resources and maintain safe staffing levels.
  
• Team leadership Lead supervise and support Disability Support Workers with coaching guidance and performance feedback.
  
• Compliance & records Maintain accurate participant staff and operational records in line with our policies and the NDIS Practice Standards.
  
• Participant & stakeholder coordination Coordinate appointments activities and communication with families Support Coordinators allied health professionals and other stakeholders.
  
• Household management Manage supplies equipment and admin processes so the home runs efficiently.
  
• People management Support recruitment onboarding training and performance management alongside the SIL Manager and People & Culture team.
  
• Participant support Provide direct support where required including personal care implementing support plans and promoting community participation.
  

Requirements

Essential

• Communication Excellent spoken and written English. This role carries a high level of stakeholder engagement and youll need to interpret complex medical reports and documentation and relay that information clearly to families support workers and external professionals.
  
• Qualifications Certificate IV Diploma or equivalent in disability human services or a related field.
  
• Experience Minimum 23 years as a Disability Support Worker or in a similar role supporting people with disability with demonstrated experience managing services.
  
• NDIS knowledge Solid understanding of SIL services NDIS frameworks and Quality and Safeguarding standards.
  
• Leadership Proven ability to lead develop and motivate a team while driving strong service outcomes.
  
• Organisation Exceptional administrative and organisational skills with the ability to manage detailed documentation planning and competing priorities.
  
• Problem solving Ability to assess situations identify risks make sound decisions and implement practical solutions.
  
• High-intensity care Confident implementing behaviour support plans restrictive practices manual handling procedures and medication protocols.
  
• Values Genuine commitment to participant rights choice and control and respectful person-centred service.
  
  

Highly Regarded

• A clinical or health background nursing allied health or similar or strong working knowledge of clinical documentation care plans and medical terminology.
  
• Experience liaising with allied health professionals GPs specialists and Behaviour Support Practitioners.
