As our Fuels & Energy East business continues to grow, we are inviting Expressions of Interest from Cost Engineers interested in expanding their experience across the bulk storage, fuels, refining and terminal infrastructure sectors. This is an opportunity to become part of a highly experienced team delivering solutions for some of Australia's most critical assets.

You will gain exposure to a diverse portfolio of fuel terminals, storage facilities, refining infrastructure, brownfield modifications, asset integrity programs, capital projects and operational support activities. You'll work alongside industry experts and develop valuable experience across the full asset lifecycle, from concept and design through to procurement, construction and commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor project cost and schedule performance against approved baselines, identifying variances, trends and risks to support informed decision-making.
• Ensure accurate allocation of project costs across Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) elements, maintaining financial integrity and reporting accuracy.
• Collect, verify and analyse site execution data, including labour, materials and contractor costs, to support cost tracking and forecasting activities.
• Develop and maintain detailed project cost forecasts, incorporating actual costs, commitments, productivity trends and anticipated project outcomes.
• Prepare, consolidate and analyse project cost data, contributing to monthly operational reports, management updates and project performance reviews.
• Support project controls and governance processes through cost reporting, change management, earned value analysis and the identification of cost-saving opportunities across fuel terminal, bulk storage and infrastructure projects.

About You

• Degree qualified in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Controls, Commerce, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience in Cost Engineering within engineering consultancies, EPC/EPCM contractors, or major industrial project environments, with exposure to fuel terminals, oil & gas, energy, or bulk storage projects highly regarded.
• Advanced Excel skills with proven capability in analysing large datasets, developing cost models and forecasts, and producing high-quality project reports. Experience with Power BI and other reporting and visualisation tools is advantageous.
• Working knowledge of project and enterprise systems such as SAP, Primavera P6 and other project controls platforms, with the ability to integrate cost and schedule data for accurate performance reporting.
• Proven ability to manage cost control activities across multiple concurrent work fronts within complex industrial, brownfield or operational environments.
• Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to provide clear cost insights, identify risks and support effective project decision-making.
